It seems you actually can't beat this boss. I managed to "control" her with Relm before she could hit me with the time-counter doom. From there on it was a matter of rasping away MP with RASP and using attacks that didn't provoke the unavoidable ORB9999x party wipeout. In my case Bio worked well. Using Scan I know I wiped this bosses MP to 0 (from about 65000) and her hit points (50,000) run in an infinite loop, so you can't actually kill this thing. ON THE BRIGHT SIDE I managed to get the Masamune in my inventory just by adding in the patch, but it's only marginally better than the Illumina.
