Whether you like him or not

Especally with the majority of Americans being intelligent, discerning, individuals who analyze news carefully and definitely don't like it when major media outlets put a nice jingoistic spin on things in order to make them feel good. Americans see through things like that and feel that their intelligence is insulted such idiocy.

Oh wait!

I believe something like 40% of Americans think Saddam Hussein had something to do with 9/11.

My experience is that msot Americans not only buy whatever spin their news source puts on things without question, but usually mangle that and come up with a whole slew of misinterpretations of the news that go well with their world-views. Fuck America.

And don't call me a liberal because I hate this country, I'd like to see most of you thrown into a pit of boiling acid. That's not very bleeding heart of me. That's pretty damn cruel actually. Maybe I should run for President on a "KILL THE MASSES" platform.

Ahem....hyperbole, people.

> You think so, too? Everybody knows who O'Reilly is.

Yes, a man who invites people on his show, and let's them speak. Then, as soon as they hit on a point O'Reilly missed like a bullet from one of the Matrix movies, his screeching yells drain out the guest, and he makes useless comments to try and change the situation. Ask Jack Mehoffer.

Question: Who do you think is more conservative: Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh? I would almost say Hannity because I don't think I have EVER heard him take anything but the Republican viewpoint on something, whereas Limbaugh does at least believe in right to privacy, even if he did come to be that way because of his drug problem.

They're both conservative. Hannity is totally against the president's immigration plan.

I see it different.
Limbaugh, while he makes me laugh, also makes me cringe when he starts downplaying the female role in society. He only uses it for an upside when he can attack the democrats. (Kerry's wife was a recent target of his).
Hannity, I believe, could be a dangerous man if he ever ran for office and got elected. One policy disagreement does not make one that much less conservative. Jeez.
I think they're both a couple of bigmouths who got lucky enough to jump on the talk radio bandwagon (Although, I find Rush so dumb sometimes, he's actually amusing).
As far as the jackass from Fox news, O'Neill, is concerned, screw 'em.
You do something wrong, it will eventually come out.
I don't care about the girl trying to extort money from him at this point. He's using that to make himself look like the victim.
He's getting what he deserves.
End of story.

Man am I glad I didn't stick my foot in this one. From the discussion that I've read, this looks like a situation similar to Kobe Bryant's recent ordeal. (And no, I'm not talking about Shaq vs Kobe.)

Personally, I don't watch any of them. Or in the case of Rush, listen. I have nothing invested in this either way. Whatever happens, happens. And yes, "innocent until proven guilty."

The part I love most: "unwanted phone sex"

How the hell do you FORCE someone to have phone sex? I guess maybe he would say he would fire her if she didn't, but jeez...it's just hard for me to picture a kind of "phone rape" situation.

All of the situations she names involve times where she could have easily removed herself from the situation. The entire claim is ridiculous. But because people here dislike Bill O'Reilly, he's automatically guilty. Go figure.

Especially when that someone is a person in a position of great responsibility. That comes with the job of reporting the news - correctly. Not with a right/left slant.
Reporters, both written and live news, are supposed to be objective. Good luck convincing me he's that.
As far as Crooky said, I can't see the forced phone sex thing either. All I can do is see the Sprint guy holding a gun to her head saying, "Take the call".

You're giving reporters too much credit.

> less slanted than any of 'em?

Reporters report...

...the copy that is handed to them before the newscast or shown to them via the teleprompter. If you're going to accuse anyone of being slanted, accuse the copy writers.

Hence, why its Rupert Murdoch's fault....

But still....I'd think that O'Reilly would at least have some say as to the content of his show.

I would hardly call O'Reilly a reporter.

that's only true to a point. like saying soldiers soldier. But this soldier wouldn't be caught dead or alive in iraq cuz i don't believe in the war. it's always a choice. and by the same token, i think it's fair to say some reporters may have got in the business thinking they'd do some good with their fairness and objectivity. but they're never spoon-feeding us more than the commonly accepted truth which means they're part of the problem.
