Is there a way to play this in the original .ssf format? I can't find any audio players to handle Saturn format and I'd rather not get the mp3 version

Only one I'm intimately aware of is AOSSF, a plugin for Winamp, latest version (1.21) found here.

foobar2000 can play it, as I convert these files to MP3s with foobar2000.

I believe its the vgmstream plugin, or Game Emu Player plugin (I'm not entirely sure which one it is, because I have lots of plugins installed).
