That's a good point. Caring about somebody involves more than just agreeing with them. If this is Red's only job opportunity at the moment and he has kids to support, then you're totally right, he should suck it up and try to work things out. I'm sure he has other options, though.
If you really need this job then try your best to keep it, but if you can afford to lose it then don't go quitely. From what you've said it sounds like it could go either way. Whatever happends, I'm sure it will make an interesting conclusion to the story.
Well, I called the union guy around 11 this morning and got his answering machine. Still haven't heard back from him yet. Now I'm getting nervous. This is my livelihood we're talking about.
I'm sure he's a very busy guy and all, but his hours are only until 4pm and it's going on 3. I just want to get this taken care of and know what the next step is. Getting back to my job or placed in a new one. I'm losing money just waiting.
I feel sick to my stomach and anything I try to eat feels like a load of bricks on it. I've also been in an almost catatonic state since I've been up with only one thing on my mind and that's my job.
I finally got a hold of the union guy yesterday and he tells me that he spoke with the Human Resources department for Albertson's and they said that the notes alone wouldn't be cause for termination, but I had refused to leave the store director's office when he told me to and that was a problem.
So the guy never tells me when there's going to be a meeting between me, the union and Acme, but he asked me if it was my only job and when I said yes he told me I better go apply for unemployment. WTF?!?!?! Can't this guy place me in a different store?
I don't know what the fuck is going on and my health seems to be getting worse. I have some serious stomach problems. In all actuality I've been sick since Christmas and haven't been totally well since.
